ECT Privacy Policy

1 Data controller: Charlotte Gilbert On Behalf of Wiltshire Council Charlotte Gilbert, OBO Wiltshire Council is the data controller for the personal information you provide in this form. The Council’s Data Protection Officer can be contacted at [email protected].

2 What is the data being used for? The primary purpose of collecting data is to ensure that we can inform the Teacher Regulation Agency of your progress towards passing your induction year. We also use the details to ensure that your contract meets the requirements of the Statutory Guidance for ECTs. Twice a year anonymised data is collated and shared with a panel of experienced Induction Tutors. This allows the council to monitor trends in the workforce. This includes contract type, proportion of ECTs on track to pass induction, training institution and training route.

3 Who will the data be shared with? The only data that is shared beyond the ECT team within School Effectiveness is your start date, finish date, Teacher Reference number and date of birth. This is necessary to update your records on the TRA’s database. If you move school and register for induction, we are obliged to share any completed assessments with the school and the Appropriate Body that they use for ECT Induction.

Following changes to the induction arrangements, ECTs starting induction after January 2023 will need to move Appropriate Bodies from September 2024, when Wiltshire Council will no longer be able to provide the service. All data held will be transferred to the new Appropriate Body.

We will not share your data with any other third parties unless we are required or permitted to do so by law or without further consultation.

4 Marketing consent Users can opt out of marketing emails at any time on the ECT Manager system.
